AM Inbox: Way to rebrand

RetailEmail.Blogspot monitors the email marketing campaigns of more than 100 of the top online retailers. Here are highlights from our inbox this morning:

Macy’s, 9/9 — You're Invited! Get Free Shipping at macys.com
This is the first email that’s part of Macy’s rebranding campaign for Marshall Field’s and the other department store banners that Federated acquired from May Department Stores. While we are only subscribed to Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s newsletters, presumably this went out to the subscribers at Field’s and the other banners as well. Clicking through, we land on a page that introduces people to the Macy’s brand, its advertising, its exclusive merchandise, its credit card and its history—all while pumping out a zippy, celebratory soundtrack.

Bluefly, 9/8 — Feeling Lucky? Instantly Win Designer Shoes...
Bluefly and InStyle magazine have partnered up to run another one of Bluefly’s merchandise giveaways, The Ultimate Shoe Giveaway. As in the past, the contest allows registered customers to enter as many times as they’d like, with a limit of once per day. The contest adds some excitement and helps Bluefly attract more registered users and email addresses. The backend of this particular promotion appears to be run by ePrize.
