AM Inbox: Stealing home
RetailEmail.Blogspot monitors the email marketing campaigns of more than 100 of the top online retailers. Here are highlights from our inbox this morning:
Sports Authority, 10/27 — St. Louis Cardinals Win! 2006 World Series Champs...
In early morning hours on Saturday, Sports Authority was the first retailer to announce that the Cardinals had won the World Series—even beating out MLB.com!
Sears, 10/27 — MONSTER SALE - 2 days only!
With all their caveats, sales can be confusing, which can lead to disappointed customers. To make things clear, Sears used a unique approach that makes it easy to see which deals apply to which product categories. It looks a bit like a business spreadsheet, but it is most definitely clear.

Can you smell it? Retailers can. It’s the rotting corpse of Halloween. With Halloween one day away from being out of the way, retailers will have nothing between them and Christmas, except Thanksgiving (which as long since been Santa’s accomplice). More than a few retailers are getting an extra jump on the season. Over the weekend and into Monday morning, we saw a significant jump in holiday emails. We included a few of them in the Scanner below.
