AM Inbox: Cutting the heel strap

RetailEmail.Blogspot monitors the email marketing campaigns of more than 100 of the top online retailers. Here are highlights from our inbox this morning:

Gap, 4/4 — The top 3 shoe trends from Piperlime.
Gap continues to use its Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic lists to send out Piperlime emails, which can’t go on forever. In my opinion, they’ve already overdone it. In this email, they seem to using a bigger banner to ask folks to also sign up on the Piperlime email list, which is good. Going forward, I hope they produce more emails like the March 6 Banana Republic email that tied shoes from Piperlime into the pants that Banana was promoting (see March 7 AM Inbox)

Following in the footsteps of Best Buy with its Geek Squad, OfficeMax has announced the launch of CtrlCenter. What’s really smart about CtrlCenter is that they pitch it as primarily a remote diagnostic and repair service that uses your Internet connection to provide access and make fixes.
