After introducing subscribers to Mr. Bluelight in a May 18 email (see May 21 AM Inbox), this is the first email to feature him prominently. In it, they introduce the Best of Blue, which is similar to Musician’s Friend’s Stupid Deal of the Day, which they just discontinued, replacing with a New Product of the Day (see Aug. 3 AM Inbox). This set up gives Kmart a lot of freedom to change or personalize the products presented when the subscribe clicks through.

Through a secondary banner in this email, Circuit City introduces City Life, a new monthly newsletter. The newsletter includes a few articles, a Forum Pick of the Month, some trivia and some really fun haiku reviews—you can see the one for 300 in the bottom right-hand corner of this screenshot.
