AM Inbox: Black Friday starting early this year
>>Free Multichannel Marketing Webinar tomorrow. Get the details.
RetailEmail.Blogspot monitors the email marketing campaigns of more than 100 of the top online retailers. Here are highlights from our inbox this morning:
Sears, 11/10 — Extra 10% OFF Almost Everything – Savings Start 6pm on Sunday!
In another sign that retailers are trying to ring up some holiday sales before consumer confidence falls further, Sears is promoting “after-Thanksgiving prices” already.

Circuit City, 11/11 — Beat the holiday rush and save up to 75% now
On Veterans Day, Circuit City included this banner in their email, letting subscribers know that they need to order their gifts by Dec. 2 in order to have them delivered overseas to soldiers in time for Christmas. I haven’t seen any other retailers mention deadlines for overseas shipping—and as near as I can recall, only one major online retailer mentioned overseas shipping last year.

In this email, Circuit City also promotes their new RSS feeds, which include five categories of feeds, including Latest promotions, What’s new, Top sellers, Newsletter and Corporate news. If you’re only doing broadcast emails, then RSS is worth exploring because of its higher deliverability. Of course, that begs the question: Why are you only doing broadcast emails when segmented email programs generate ROIs that are multifold higher?

Target, 11/11 — Our sleighs deliver with free shipping on select toys.
Just like last year (see Nov. 24 AM Inbox), Target has served up a holiday widget to help customers countdown the days until Christmas (or some other holiday) and help with gift ideas.
