In addition to overnight shipping, in-store pick-up and store promotions, the other lever that many retailers pulled in the final days before Christmas was promoting e-gift cards. During the five days before Christmas (Dec. 20-24), 25% of all the emails tracked via RetailEmail.Blogspot promoted e-gift cards. And of those emails, 41% mentioned e-gift cards in their subject lines. Of the 111 major online retailers tracked by RetailEmail.Blogspot, 32% of them mentioned e-gift cards in their emails at least once during that five-day period.
