HSN, 2/7 — Your Featured Products for the Week
HSN has redesigned their emails to make better use of the real estate at the top of their newsletters, boosting their preview pane visibility. The most obvious change is the addition of a left-hand column in the upper half of the email. That new column includes featured stores, customer picks and new product sections. HSN has also added four blocks under the hero image, which is much smaller to accommodate the additions. The bottom section of the email is pretty much the same, although they’ve changed the name to “your featured products—chosen just for you!” to emphasize that the project selection is personalized.
Also with this redesign, HSN is the latest retailer to change their sender address in the wake of the hot and heavy holiday email season. They changed their sender address to CommunityNews@hsn-email.com from communitynews@hsn-mail.com. Although I didn’t detect any deliverability problems, one would assume that’s the reason behind the move.

This is a tight and easily scannable way of presenting your spring line up when you have multiple lines. Although the white type is a bit hard to read, the email quickly shows you representative pieces from each line and makes it easy to decide which you might want to explore further.
