The RetailEmail Index fell 1% to 199 during the week ending March 28, and is up 1% from where it was four weeks ago. The Index score indicates that the top 100 online retailers sent approximately 2 promotional emails each on average last week.

RetailEmail Participation Rates: Last week, 89% of the retailers in the RetailEmail Index sent out at least one promotional email, down from 92% the week prior, and down from 92% during the 4-weeks-ago period.

RetailEmail Seasonality Meter: This Easter falling so early this year, there’s a bit of a lull in the seasonal calendar. Tax Day isn’t for another couple of weeks, Earth Day is another week beyond that, and Mother’s Day won’t get going in earnest until late April (see Mother’s Day Season Finale).
