RetailEmail.Blogspot turns 2, becomes The Retail Email Blog!
On June 15, 2006, the first AM Inbox post debuted and RetailEmail.Blogspot as you know it was born. Since that time, I’ve published more than 760 posts—all of which are thoroughly tagged by post category, selling season, retailer and topic, making it easy to mine past content. I sincerely hope that you’ve enjoyed all the content and that it has helped you do your job better. I’m truly thankful for your readership and your kind words of support and appreciation throughout the year. To celebrate the occasion, I’ve made a number of improvements…
A new name: The Retail Email Blog
Honestly, a lot of people we’re calling it the Retail Email Blog anyway, so it just made sense to rebrand under this simpler, easier-to-say name.
A new home: RetailEmailBlog.com
Along with the new name, there’s a new URL for all things retail email: http://www.retailemailblog.com/. Again, hopefully you’ll find this URL easier remember and say (like when you’re recommending this blog to colleagues). If the technology does its job (fingers crossed), this should be a seamless transition that requires no effort on your part, with both the URL and feed being redirected to the new location.
A new look
The new title banner with the first-ever Retail Email Blog logo was created by Lisa Harmon and Aaron Smith over email marketing agency Smith-Harmon. As long-time readers, dedicated Email Experience Council members, retail email experts and just fantastic people to work with, they were the obvious choice and they didn’t disappoint. I think it turned out awesome!
A new design
Along with the new look, the Retail Email Blog has a new, cleaner design. The most striking change is the addition of a second sidebar, which is dedicated to ads and to highlighting the invaluable support of the eec’s platinum sponsors (see a full list of sponsors here). Plus, the area above the title banner now contains more links to the most popular resources at the eec. I hope you take advantage of those and consider the benefits of becoming an eec member. Beyond that, the horizontal navigation bar that was under the title banner has been moved to the left rail, right below the sign-up form of the eec’s weekly newsletter. I made a few other, mostly cosmetic changes, but those are the big ones.
To close, I’d just like to again thank all my readers, the fabulous eec community, and all my blogger and reporter friends. To another great year.

Chad,
Looks great - nice clean easy to follow... I jealous of the new Look and will have to consider a face list for my blog ;)
Cheers,
Matt
Congrats on turning 2 Chad and on the new design. Love the shopping bag/email logo. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Matt. It was actually your new logo that got me thinking it was time for a site overhaul. It all started with logo jealousy.
And thanks to you too, Mark.
Chad, I'm so excited!!! We're so happy to have been able to work with you on this :)... And thanks for brunch - it was fantastic - and the t-shirt :)!!! Awesome :).
Happy 2nd, and the new design looks great. Very easy to scan and find past insights quickly (yeah I read the new stuff too).
Chad -
Love the new look and the new url. Keep up the great work on the blog. It continues to be one of the best in the industry - one that I recommend as a "must read" to all of my clients, regardless of industry.
