AM Inbox: FTD relaunches email reminder service
The Retail Email Blog monitors the email marketing campaigns of more than 100 top online retailers. Here are highlights from my inbox this morning:
FTD, 3/31 — Introducing The FTD Reminders Program
FTD launches a revamped email reminder program—now with a SMS reminder option. In this email they quickly lay out the benefits and incentivize subscribers to give it a try. They should consider creating a version of this email to be included in their welcome series as well.

Blair, 3/31 — Last chance for $2.99 shipping
Blair sends one of the first April Fools’ Day-inspired retail emails. Stay tuned for a April Fools’ roundup tomorrow.

J. Crew, 3/31 — Extra 30% off final sale (online only)
I’m not sure that the “mind-altering drug” pun is the wisest headline, but I like how they’ve changed the color of their “forward to a friend” call-to-action to red so that it stands out more. We’ve seen our clients do well by using a red “Sale” or “Outlet” link in the navigation bar, so this is a design tactic that can draw extra attention to a link.

SUBJECTIVITY SCANNER: Select noteworthy subject lines
Crate & Barrel, 3/31 — Hop to it...Easter is 4/12. Save 15% on your next purchase.
Toys “R” Us, 3/31 — You're Invited to the Great Nickelodeon Easter Adventure!
