Fingerhut, 12/1 — Fingerhut: Sneak Peek - Countdown to Christmas Calendar
Along with Blair and Kohl’s, Fingerhut started their “X Days of Christmas” campaign yesterday. What I like about how they’ve done the email component of it is that they’re giving their email subscribers a sneak peek at the upcoming deals. Web visitors to the landing page don’t get that heads up. This tactic also allows Fingerhut to promote their Christmas Calendar without sending daily emails and also gives subscribers who don’t check their email every day a chance to act on the deal of the day.
Bluefly, 12/1 — Today Only! EXTRA 15% OFF Handbags & Shoes with Code HOLIDAY15
“Shop by persona” is one of the many ways that you can break up gift selections into much more manageable and relevant chunks for your shoppers. It also provides some opportunities for creativity and branding. Bluefly takes advantage of this opportunity in this email, where they promote gifts for the Party Girl and link to a landing page that includes several other personas, each with their own checklist of traits.
This email is also interesting in that they’ve included their discount code in the subject line. Bluefly is now the third major online retailer I’ve seen do that.

Can “shipping” really be abbreviated as “ship.”? I don’t think so, guys.
