The Retail Email Index: The top online retailers sent each of their subscribers 3.2 promotional emails on average during the week ending May 27, 2011. That’s down 1% week-over-week, down 5% from where it was four weeks ago, and up 14% year-over-year.

The Retail Email Participation Rate: Friday was the most popular day to send retail emails last week.

The Retail Email Seasonality Meter: Memorial Day messaging peaked last week, although it will continue into the early part of this week. Father’s Day messaging will more than double this week to around 25%. Graduation messaging will start to peter out over the next couple of weeks.
