Ralph Lauren gives us our first reference to the Olympics. They’ve been a longtime supporter and outfitter of the games (see Jan. 12, 2010 AM Inbox). Retailers will promote their sponsorship of the games, as Home Depot did (see July 28, 2008 AM Inbox); raise funds for Team USA, as Home Depot also did (see Aug. 1, 2008 AM Inbox); leverage Olympic achievements, as Road Runner Sports did (see Aug. 25, 2008 AM Inbox); tout patriotic and Olympic items; and even highlight any staffers that are Olympic hopefuls.
